*About Tango chirimen fabric...
Great texture from special string and the way of making. Tango chirimen is made by a process of incorporating highly twisted threads into the normal weaving process. This process is only used in areas of Tango, Kyoto and makes this quality fabric unique to that area.

*About Katsushika Hokusai... (Artist)
Katsushika Hokusai(1760-1849)was a Japanese artist, ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period.Born in Edo (now Tokyo)Hokusai is best-known as author of the woodblock print series Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji, which includes the iconic and internationally-recognized print, The Great Wave off Kanagawa (created during the 1820s). Hokusai is considered one of the outstanding figures of Japanese woodblock printing, sometimes referred to as ukiyo-e.

Kokeshi are Japanese dolls, originally from northern Japan. They are handmade from wood, have a simple trunk and an enlarged head with a few thin, painted lines to define the face. The body has a floral design painted in red, black, and sometimes yellow, and covered with a layer of wax. One characteristic of Kokeshi dolls is their lack of arms or legs. The bottom is marked with the signature of the artist.
